942-Memory Training error (code 1501)
I have a z420 from 2016, it's worked without error, all the time. I've played some games over the weekend, I turned it off. Now when I turned it on, a little later in the evening, it made this "beep" and the screen reads
942-Memory Training Error.
DIMM 3 on CPU 0 experienced an error during training (CODE 1501).
In the corner it says "F1 : Boot" but when I press the keyboard nothing happens. It doesn't continue from there.
I've tried turning it off and starting it again, but it looks like the error is here to stay.
I've tried connecting a basic HP keyboard as well, and press "esc" and other keys, to try to access the Bios or boot-menu, before the error happens, but it doesn't register any key presses.
I haven't opened the PC because I didn't want to void the warranty, but I guess the computer is so old that the warranty is void anyways? I hope you can help me. I'm willing to buy new RAM or a motherboard or whatever, if it turns out that something's actually broken.
Is it possible that a RAM block can be shaken loose? I have restless leg syndrome, and the desktop is on my desk, so it's quite possible that I might have shaken something over the years... it just feels weird that the error happened while I was away?
I'm afraid I don't know much about the specs of the machine:
6-core Intel Xeon E5-1650@3.20 GHz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB
16GB DDR4 RAM

HP Elite Slice G3 Release, G1 vs G2?
Hi,
I think the question was already put in here, but I'd like to know if there are any rumors/plans on a refresh of the HP Elite Slice?
So like a G3 with either an 8th/9th/10th gen Intel series processor.
From news perspective, it was like pretty quiet, just the meeting solution with Pad, mic etc for collaboration is written about, but even that has just technical specs of the G2, and the CPU here is most often "just" some i5-7500T, even most likely enough for the use case.
I am more into this using as Home Office or even Business PC.
I know the other mini series of HP but like the design and pro here way more.
Is the regular unit discontinued? I even rarely see them sold nowadays.
Already some successor or new line/brand available?
Also, how about cross compatibility and the difference of G1, G2 and G2 for Meeting Rooms?
Next to Chipset and CPU, is there any visual or other (chassis size, connectors etc) difference between those ?
Are all Modules compatible to each Base Unit?
Is some CPU Upgrade even possible (6th ->7th gen)?
I hope all is clear and would be happy to receive some responses.
Would understand the decision to focus on meeting solution for this one, but sad for me still.

Enable Intel AMT - HP Z4 G4
Hi we have some Z4 G4 workstations that have a i9 processor. Intel AMT will not enable and I have found some documentation that supports this:
NOTE:
Intel AMT is not available on Intel Core X configurations.
Is anyone able to confirm if replacing the i9 chip with a xeon will enable Intel AMT?

HP Elitedesk 800 G5
By default the Elitedesk 800 G5 isnt't able to start from a wol package. The default network drivers for this model didnt't have a option for the enable magic package. Only if you search online for new drivers in the device manager on the drivers tab of the network card you will get magic packet( with drivers 12.18.9.11). But now with Magic Packet enabled on the network card we didn't find out how to start the pc with a wol tool. It doesn't work. With my Fujitsu Esprimo 958 it works perfecty on the same subnet. So can you tell what to do? Hp has not many information about this. Can't find this information and the business hotline is always busy (in fact you cant reach them)

Imaging Thin Client over internet with SMB
HPDM 4.7 SP12 HP Thin Client t730
I am trying to image a thin client over the internet "DMZ" i have a gateway in the DMZ and can push software and settings to DMZ clients with only https configure.
I have also added SMB settings to the DMZ gateway, but still not able to image a client:
What logs i can check? On the HPDM and/or gateway? What else have i missed in configuration?

Zero Client Firmware Upgrade to 6.x
My zero client had the firmware 6.0 when I bought it. Now after the repair from HP it has firmware 4.8. I tried to upgrade it to 6.x but Teradici is asking me to subscribe to all access which seems to be for enterprises. I can't find this firmware on HP Software and Drivers section.

using a Asus Hyper M.2 x16 PCIe card with 2 NVMe in a HP Z440 workstation
Since there were discussions about the Asus Hyper M.2 x16 card I want to describe how I could manage to use it in my HP Z440 workstation together with two HP Z-Turbodrive NVMe. One (256 GB, standard 1.0) was used before together with the HP Z Turbodrive G2 modul as boot disc, the other (512 GB, standard 1.2 ) was new and unused. Both were put into the Asus hyper card. After setting the BIOS as needed the 256 GB disc booted normally and showed the 512 GB NVMe as new available disc. The performance of both is really amazing.
The basic information for the card is provided by Asus at https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1037507 . It says
- The Asus card needs a x16 slot. The slot for the Asus card has to be set to x4x4x4x4 mode. At the Z440 you can do this in the bios at “advanced/slot settings” with the bifurcation mode
- If you use a graphic card in the other x16 slot you have to reduce the PCIe mode, otherwise the you don’t see the NVMe in the system. There are two possibilities described
- The slot for the graphic card is set to x8x8 --> then you can use 2 NVMe in the Asus card
- The slot for the graphic card is set to x4x4x4x4--> then you can use all 4 NVMe in the Asus card
I tried both settings with two NVMe (I didn’t have more available) and both settings worked.
I also change the slots for the graphic card and the Asus card. First standard slot 2 for the graphic card and slot 5 for Asus, then the otherway round. It worked in all settings
Below the pictures of the bios settings and the crystalDiskmark7 results, compared to anormal SSD in the Z440, also the crystalDiskinfo on the NVMe.

RP9 POS touch screen on responsive
Multiple screen gestures appear to make the machine non responsive, is this a thing?
example: I can place 4 fingers along the left or right side of the screen at the edges and randomly the touch screen stops responding, only way out is a button restart.
i haven't read about any touch patterns at all that would define this.
curious if others have seen this as well.
other than this there are no further issues with touch functionality.

Z620 bios update
Hi everyvone. Please help me. İ have z620. Hp 158a motherboard. E5 2650 v0. My bios j61.1.02. very old. İ need to upgrate it. Download the new bios from hp. Tryed to setup on windos. At the end of the setup warning message said bios cant update. After i copy to flash fat32 .bin and entered the bios. Flash setup enter and pc nothing do 5 minutes. İts locked. Then i reset pc so pc works. But i cant bios update. My english not good. Sorry for it. Please help me. A to z basic help. Thank you

Non-system disk or disk error after BIOS update to rev 2.50
After updating the BIOS to the latest version (from rev 2.20 to 2.50) I can't load anymore to the windows and Non-system disk or disk error appears. Also all USB ports are inactive.
The only thing that I can boot to the BIOS but I can't find there any solution.

Creating Lab Z600 server - Add 3x3tb drive HDs for raid storage and an SSD for System Drive
Hi All,
I have a Z600 that I bought several years ago. I now want to use this as a home lab/server (planning ESXi install with VCSA, some VMs and potentially a home file server).
I wanted to change the front 2 bays (currently DVD drive and blanking plate) so overall I can fit a 1TB drive and 3 x 3TB drives (WD RED 3 TB NAS).
From what I have read I should be able to find an internal drive caddy (?) that fits and will need to use a raid HBA card to be able to get the Storage drives connected?
Can someone please advise on if I need the RAID card and what other factors I need to take into consideration?
Advice would be much appreciated 🙂
