Downgrade TPM chip from 2.0 (7.63) to 1.2 (6.43)

I need to downgrade a TPM chip from 2.0 (7.63) to 1.2 (6.43); the current Softpack SP81900 only has the 7.62 to 6.43.

Does anyone have the 2.0 (7.63) to 1.2 (6.43) file to use with the utility?

Without this, I don't seem to be able to enable BitLocker.

Z420 Bios upgrade wows

Hello

I have a back-up workstation for my CAD business, a Z420 which was replaced by Z4 G4 as the main daily used workstation. The Z420 for the last two+ years has not been used and I really should have updated it to Windows 10 on it sooner.

Crunch time, my daughter needs it for home teaching with the coronavirus shutting all schools and also I really need it ready for Solidworks which is going all Windows 10.

So the problem the BIOS is really old! -

BIOS Version/Date = Hewlett-Packard J61 V01.02     09/03/2012

OK fine upgrade it - run the downloads from HP which can be done in windows. Seems to go fine until the very end.

Now looking at previous posts there is some kind of step method you need to do. Trouble is I'm still not 100% clear on the exact stepped upgrade path (which versions) and getting the files seems impossible. Links/downloads have died due to the passing of time.

The workstation would seemed to be worth saving

E5-1620 processor (not terrible for single core processing by today's standard)

24gb of Ram

Samsung 500GB 850 pro storage

FirePro v5900 (this is actually probably the weakest part now days)

Thanks for any help people can give to get the BIOS firmware upgraded and I can get this thing on Windows 10.

HP Z620 Radeon Sapphire VII

Hi

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the Radeon Sapphire VII is compatible with the HP Z620. I bought a Radeon Sapphire VII off ebay, but it just keeps randomly crashing/black-screening on me shortly after boot - the seller insists it's working, but I have no way of testing it outside of the Z620.

Symptoms:
- Install phase of an OS: it's OK works as expected (provided a single monitor is used)
- Logging in to desktop: logs in then crashes after about a minute or so
- Boot to BIOS: delayed in some cases when compared with the K600 I had previously installed.
- Remove a USB3.1 PCIe card in slot 2: keeps the system stable for longer but will still inevitably crash.

Remediation:
- DDU to uninstall all drivers and installed clean from AMD and Windows - both failed
- Clean install of Windows 10 1903 - boots to desktop then crashes
- Clean install of MacOS 10.15.3 - boots to desktop and crashes a short time later.
- nVidia K600 - This card works native in both MacOS and Windows, it's clears up all the abovementioned issues when swapped out with the Radeon.

The 2x6-pin adapters have been upgraded to the 8-pin connectors using the HP 6-8pin adapters. The Radeon VII uses 2x8-pin (a total of 300watts), the Z620 has 2x6-pin which are providing up to 300w combined, above the standard ATX standard.

After a bit of research it turns out the Z620 will only support GPU's with up to 225watts in those PCIe x16 slots. Could this be the reason?

The system specifications for the HP Z620, https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/157623iC856EE2C28DD0C8B/image-size/original?v=1.0&px=-1, state that a card exceeding 225 watts of power shouldn't be plugged into the graphics slot.

But it also states that the power consumption of ALL PCIe the cards should not exceed 300w. The Radeon VIIi can peak in power above 300w as can be seen in this graph https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/BfayBCmUfK6uUzFTqDtZY.png.

Could this be the cause of the random crashing? Thanks in advance.

Hi there!

I got a 8-pin gpu ( RTX 2060 Super) , but my hp Z620 workstation has 2x  6-pin pci connectors.

My question: Should I connect 1x 6-pin to the 8pin gpu and fill the remaining 2 pins  from my second 6-pin power cable ?

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE- VERY FRUSTRATING

MY PC HP All-in-One 24-f0037c is in warranty and not working.

I've been trying to get hold of someone and got ZERO response or a live person.

Has HP shut down everything?

Surprisingly If I want to buy their sales lines are still on but no customer service.

I am definitely going to think twice before buying another HP PC in future.

Can you advise how to get out of this issue for now!?

TIA

HP Z640 CPU fan does not automatically speedup

CPUs in our HP Z640 Workstation are overheating. Automatic fan speed control does not work (based on CPU load / temperature). CPU0 and CPU1 fans has the same rpm even the load is almost 0% and temperature 35°C or 100% load and 89°C CPU temperature.

CPU overheatingCPU overheating

HP support does not know how to solve the problem at all. During 2 months warranty claim they already changed motherboard, new fans on rear case wall, new USB module on the front case wall. It did not solve the problem. Updated BIOS. Reinstalled OS Win 10 Pro + all drivers. Nothing helped after 3 HP technicians visits onsite.

I am very disappointed with HP support. I will never ever buy any HP product anymore.

Configuration: 2x CPU Intel Xeon E5-2690 v4 (14x core @ 2.6 GHz), 128 GB ECC RAM, HP NVIDIA Quadro M4000, 8GB GDDR5

Motherboard: HP model 212A, version 1.01

Current BIOS: M60 02.50 (newest available). I already tried to downgrade to M60 02.48 if it will help as I expected there is some software bug in the BIOS. It did not help. Then I tried downgrade to M60 02.31 from 2017 year when thsi PC was procudes. Did not help, too.

When I set "Idle fan speed" option in BIOS to maximum, then CPU fans are around 5000 rpm. But also both rear case wall and front case wall fans rotate at thousands rpm. With this cooling power CPUs even under heavy load 100% don't exceed 50°C. Nice. It this is not workstation but server placed somewhere in data centre, I will keep it as it is. But it is on the desk in our officee. And with such Idel fans rpm it's very very noisy.

Idle fan speedIdle fan speed

This super power and super expensive workstation is useless when you cannot use the power because you don't want to destroy CPUs. Instead of rendering in 3DS Max it is possible to use it by secretary for replying emails and writing in MS Word 😞

CPUs temperatures and fans rpm I watch in HP Performance Advisor SW.

I asked Intel support to give me their opinion. They stated that at 89°C CPU makes throttling to do not exceed TCASE temperature. Case Temperature is the maximum temperature allowed at the processor Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS). So the CPU is shutting down core by core and reducing frequency to avoid this temperature to be exceeded. It's clear that running CPUs at these max temperatures will sooner or later kill CPUs.

Exactly same problem many people already described in other topics of this forum. Ie. (it's totally stupid on this forum that I must create a new topic, cannot post just reply to some existing):

Looking to upgrade my HP Z800 further, want to know if I can run X5690 CPU.

Currently have 2 x X5687 Chips & 192GB ram

if I install the X5690 CPU'S will I have to re-load Window's

Will replace current c drive with SSD to help speed things up too. Window's 10 Pro

The reason the spec is good as it is now is because I do some very large v-look ups in excel some over 500,000 records.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help

Z420 Missing memory fans and air baffles - part numbers, please?

I am working on a Z420 Workstation and I noticed that it is missing at least two fan and air baffle assembles. Here is a picture from a Google search showing the two assembles, circled in red, that I am missing.

Small (4 of 5).jpg

I also now notice that I am missing the fan in the lower right corner of the image.

The Workstation has 4x8GB memory to give a total of 32GB and it has a Xeon E5-1650 V3 processor.

Does anyone here know the part numbers for these three items? Maybe I can find them on Amazon or eBay.

I will be running this machine continuously and want to make sure it is being properly cooled. If these fans are not necessary for this configuration then I would appreciate knowing that too.

Thanks!

HP Z600 no video output

$

Hello everybody

So I attempted to build the HP z600 Workstation with a Motherboard I bought and CPU and memory which I got from my company when they wanted to throw out some hardware. I also bought the original case, powersupply and one of the listed graphics cards.

My problem now is, that I don't get any video output from the graphics card. I already tried a few.

I also had a great discussion with someone on reddit about v1 and v2 of the z600 motherboard. I'm using Intel Xeon X5675 and also got registered ecc ram which should be supported by the v2 board apparently have a v2 motherboard. There is a sticker on the mb sp#591184-001 which indicates it's a version 2 board. Unfortunatly I can't verify that in the bios bc I can't get video output.

I’ve got this memory: MICRON MT36KSF1G72PZ-1G4M1HE 8GB (1X8GB) 1333MHZ PC3-10600R CL9 ECC DUAL RANK REGISTERED DDR3 SDRAM 204-PIN DIMM MEMORY

I checked the specs of the memory and for me and also the guy from reddit agreed it should be fine. Unless of course I have a v1 board where registered memory isn’t supported.

I checked each memory dimm and not one had an error.

Do the specs look good for you or did we miss something? I also tested every ram stick witch one cpu in the first socket. But everything seems fine. So the motherboard maybe is faulty or not functioning properly. I'm planning on getting an Intel X5570 to check if maybe the motherboard is a v1 and not a v2 as sticker says and I belive. But then I would also need unregistered/unbuffered memory.

I just want to be sure that it's not the memory before I would buy a v2 mainboard and then realise I've spent money on another mainboard when it's actually the memory

When I boot up everything seems fine I get no beeping error. The case fans start to spin also the ones on the graphics card.

Any ideas,thoughts or tipps?
