I've bought used Z620 with 2 Xeon E5-2609.
It's working fine.
I'm trying an upgrade towards E5-2680.
When i put one cpu, the system start normally.
With second cpu on riser, the computer start then stop immediatly.
And this several time.
So, i put again 2609 cpus : system start without problem.
I took 2660 cpu in another computer and put them in z620 : its start normally.
My question is : dual E5-2680 can't be used ?

Hallo all together, I want to chance the OS from Win10 Home to Win10 enterprise.
Now I have the problem, that I can`t bypass the "secure boot" status.
I disabled all the options I found in the BIOS for that case, but I wasn`t successfull.

Having tried every imaginable action, I cannot seem to get my HP Prodesk 600 to connect to my Panasonic Plasma TV (model TX-P50U30B).
The Prodesk 600 has 2 x displayports. I have tried to connect to the TV HDMI port, via DP to HDMI connector and also via HP displayport to HDMI 1.4 adaptor/HDMI cable, but there is no image on the TV screen despite the TV being recognised in Device Manager. Tried swapping ports on both desktop and tv, as well as swapping and trying out various cable configurations/adaptors. Have not tried USB to HDMI as I do not wish to purchase yet another cable/adaptor!
I have also tried installing/uninstalling display drivers/device drivers/graphic drivers. HP Support software shows all drivers are up to date. I have run out of ideas, so if anyone can help get this working then, this would make me a very happy person! Here are some details about my setup:
Device Name/Processor: HP Intel Core i5-7500 CPU@ 3.40Ghz 3.41Ghz
Installed Ram: 8.00GB
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, Version 1909
OS Build: 18363.720
Displays (x2): NEC Multisync E171M and Panasonic Viera Plasma TV (TX-P50U30B)
Onboard Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 630, driver version 26.20.100.7870 (05/02/2020)

I bought two Hp z600 workstations last week both have same configuration as follows :
xeon 5650 (2 processors)
12 mb cache memory
500 gb hard drive
16 gb ram
Nvidia Quadro 4000 Graphics Card
and Both systems have same operating system (i.e Windows 10 64 bit) but one of the machine shows 24 logical processors in task manager while the other one shows only 12 logical processors i dont know why is that my guess is second desktop is using only one processor while there is an extra one to be used Please Help me!

If not, can someone advise me when the dates are for the Z400 (I know it has passed), the Z2 G4Tower, HP Zbook 17 G2 and G5.
I need to plan obsolescence of these equipments so that my customer can allocate budget in future years for their replacement, and knows how long they can stay on existing hardware.
Further question; can I assume that firmware updates would normally be made available until EoSL ?

I have a serious problem started last week when using for the first time the trial version of Autodesk Substance Painter program.
It reboots the computer and I get this error message when rebooting.
I have 2 Geforce RTX 2080Ti, once it reboots only the main card (monitor plugged in) appears. It is seated on slot 6 of the motherboard.
Sometimes rebooting again makes it work again, but not for long. I tried also to remove it from the slot and put it back to be sure it was well seated. But the problem persists, and it seems it not only crashes with this program now, but randomly.
I didn't have the time to try to change pci slot yet, so I don't know if it comes from the card or the motherboard.
Any idea ?

This may be a stupid question, but I've yet to find a location (be it on HP's site, Wikipedia, or otherwise) that has the answer in a relatively quick and easy fashion. My awareness of HP's workstation lineup is that at some point in time, there was the Z800, Z600, and Z400 Workstations. At some point thereafter came the Z820, Z620, and Z420 Workstations. Thereafter that came the Z840, Z640, and Z440 Workstations. I guess now, there are the Z8 Workstation G4, Z6 Workstation G4, and the Z4 Workstation G4, along with the Z2 and the Z1 and things of this sort. Were there any models in between these? Was there ever a G3 iteration of the Z4, Z6, or Z8? Is there a better resource on HP's site to find this kind of information? Please let me know if so. Thanks in advance!

I am unable to even near the 60 FPS mark while playing CSGO or Fortnite. The maximum FPS I get on the lowest graphics is 30 FPS! Could someone please help me understand why I cannot get decent framerates?

My HP z820 workstations have x4 PCI-E Gen 3 slots for the HP Thunderbolt 3 card, but I'm not sure if the motherboard will support the card's GPIO cable.
I have a HP Z420 workstation that has been running great for a couple of years.
Main HD is a Samsung 512GB SSD, secondary HD is a Gigabyte 512 SSD (drive E:)
Last night, in the middle of my workshift, drive E: suddenly become Read Only. Could not edit, delete, or copy and files to the drive. Drive C and all external drives were fine.
Running Windows 10 Pro, have good virus protection, drivers up to date and all that....
Backed up the contents of the drive to an external. Tried all the basic troubleshooting / fix techniques. No luck.
After a lot of searching for fixes on the web, I replaced the drive with TWO other non-ssd SATA 3 drives. SAME ISSUE! - I get an error saying the disk is write protected.
This makes me believe the problem is NOT with the drive itself. All 3 drive have the same issue.
Here are the fixes I have tried so far:
Formatted the drive
Using the Disk Management utility, totally wiped the drive, created new partitions/volumes and formatted. (tried both MBR and GTP) Even tried using a different drive letter when formatting.
Using Diskpart, used the "clear readonly" command, and the clean command, even though the Attribute status did NOT show readonly.
CHKDSK E: fails with any fix parameter
Created the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SYSTEM> CurrentControlSet> Control.>StorageDevicePolicies>WriteProtect key and set the value to 0
Tried a different SATA port on the motherboard.
Tried Windows SAFE mode
Device Manager does not show any errors
Cannot find any settings in the BIOS that affect write protection
I can plug in an external USB drive and it works fine.
Can anyone suggest other things to try?
I want to upgrade the gpu in my z230 with a gaming one. What is the best one I can get?
I bought a Z240 Workstation on Ebay. On Boot it had an error on bootup.
"(A7) Me FW Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed"
Researching this error led me to update the BIOS to version 1.78a
After the installation of this BIOS Update through HP I received the above error in addition to:
"Error sending End of Post message to ME: HECI disabled, proceeding with boot!"
Unfortunately, a BIOS restore is not possible. I formatted the drive, and reinstalled windows.
All of my firmware is up-to-date through the drivers available on the website.
I have disabled Intel AMT, which I don't need anyway. That has removed the "(A7) Me FW Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed" error. However the "Error sending End of Post message to ME: HECI disabled, proceeding with boot!" error still exists.
The Intel Management Engine Software V11.0 software will not install saying it's not for my platform.
I would appreciate any help available.

I have been looking for the pinout of the cable hp751363-001 for the Thunderbolt 2 for Zx20 workstations. I have seen the Z440 discussion about the HP751366-001 and the pinout schematics, but no information about the version for Zx20 workstations (the one with C25-C26 USB conectors to the motherboard)
I have the card and the 30cm display port cable but I have lost the other cable. Can someone that have this cable give its pinout?

I did go into the BIOS and enabled Secure Boot, unfortunately for me, after the change I can't get pass the series of six (6) beeps to undo my mistake. I have tried resetting the CMOS by pressing and holding it for at lease 8 seconds, removing the onboard battery and trying all the PCIE slots on the MB. All the online post I'm reading are telling me the same things I've already performed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
