t520 Thin Clients - Domain User login and 802.1x/802.3 authentication

Hi All,

I'm trying to set up network security at our office. I am doing this via 802.1x / 802.3 wired authentication.

I want to have all users authentication on my thin clients to have specific vlans and dACLs applied. This means that a user has to domain logon to the thin client itself.

Historically we have been using ThinPro 5.1 images. Is it possible to do a domain logon on ThinPro ? I don't know. Right now the devices autologin as "user". I see no place to add user and the login window during startup pops up and dissapears nearly instantly.

If I cannot do this via ThinPro, can I easily move my fleet OS from ThinPro to WES (whatever version)? What are the unknowns with a move like this? Can I use device manager to do this? Do I need special licensing?

Thank you
