A few months ago I printed the so-called second edition of the manual of HP Z4 G4 Workstation.
It was this document:
Second Edition: March 2018
First Edition: December 2017
Document Part Number: L08560-002
But now I find another "second" (?) appearance on the net:
Second (?, no third!), Edition: April 2018
First Edition: December 2017
Document Part Number: L08560-003
With this message I would like to ask, when updating the user manual, to let the customer know what has changed with respect to the previous version.
This way you don't have to plow the entire book every time there is a new edition.
If necessary, the colophon could indicate which page has been modified. That would also help. No searching and wasting time with comparing, but just reprinting the custom pages.
One could also work with additions that then refer to pages x - y or z, which they replace.
Thank you in advance for expressing your opinion on this proposal.
Afterword:
Perhaps you could tell me now already what has changed in the third version (April 2018) with regard to the second one (march 2018)? That way one does not have to compare page by page?
Kind regards,
