I have a z620 running Linux. The bios is at version 3.91 (latest). If I have my USB drives that I use for backup plugged in (1 is in a 2.0 port, 1 is in a 3.0 port), the bios appears to freeze - only the hp logo appears. As soon as I disconnect them, everything boots as expected and I can plug them in. The odd thing is it never behaved like this before, this is a recent occurence. It used to not care if these devices were plugged into the usb ports. Not sure what changed. Just wondering if there is a solution. It usually isn't a problem unless I ha ve to remote reboot (also a rare occurence), but just strange behavior and wondering if anyone else has seen anything similar.
