I got some problems with the HP Ultraslim Docking Station in combination with HP 9480m Notebooks. When we start the Notebook on the Docking Station it does freeze at the startup. When we undock the Notebook it starts fine.
Its the same problem with Windows 7 and Windows 10 installations.
I've installed the latest drivers via HP Softpaq. (BIOS, Chipset...)
I've tried to upgrade the Dockingstation Firmware but we always get the Error Can not find Synaptics MST DP hub IC.
Tested Firmware Versions:
Version: 2.27.000 Rev. A, Pass: 1, 18 September 2015, SP72953.exe
Version: 2.28.000 Rev. A, Pass: 1, 11 December 2015, SP74203.exe
Version: 2.30.000 Rev. A, Pass: 1, 18 April 2016, SP75855.exe

Hi there. I have a HPZ400 with a Nvidia Quadro 600 .(1 displayport 1 Dvi) recently I got a HP LP3065. I have tried 'all' but it ends up with: 1: from the display port via cable into the monitor DVi I get resolution of 1200x800. From the Dvi port either single or dual into the monitor I get 'nothing'. However if I connect another monitor (samsung for instance) I do get video/screen like in case of the samsung 1920x1084. The HP LP3065 monitor however should give a resolution either via DP or Dvi of 2560x1600 or am I mistaken here? (The quadro 600 has the latest update avalaible) Please some advice..

This seems weird to me. The system was working fine.
Well in truth it's been Months since I booted it up but was working fine.
So when I go to boot everything is normal it boots into windows 7 startup screen, Windows does it's little animations and then the screen goes blank / Black and stays that way! I waited for a few minutes just in case.
I've never had or seen anything like this... Any ideas on how to fix it???

I wanted to boot from a DVD to upgrade the OS. I went into the Bios, Attempted to change the boot sequence
so that the boot would be off the DVD.
At boot time , I useally see the HP logo, with a message to hit escape or f10, and then windows comes up.
Now I see no logo, nothing but black screen.
After about a minute or two, all the fans in the workstation come on strong and make lots ot noise.
Thei OS does not boot, system is "Dead" ?
I tried to clear the CMOS by disconnecting everything and pressing the Yellow button on the mother board ,
No change.
How to I get back to the default configuration ?????

I have an HP EliteDesk Tower PC on order with HP and am just trying to definitive information on its warranty. The equipment list shows the warranty as being 3 years (3/3/3). What does the 3/3/3 mean? I've been all over the HP web site and can not fine an answer. If HP has a standard warranty description sheet I certainly would appreciate receiving a copy.

Problem is - there is no how to mount it on motherboard.. there is no latch.. no how to attach it.
Should motherboard have backplate? Help please

We are trying to push an update to Windows 10 IoT thin clients to resolve a memory leak in the UWF.
We could reimage the entire fleet, but given some small tweaks on a user by user basis for things such as handedness (lefty or righty), this is less than desirable.
I am trying to create a task sequence to deploy and install the update automatically. I have the sequence to the point where it runs a script to run the .msu installer, but the task now fails with error 14004022.
I think this is because the agent doesn't return a successful result of the script, which contains this command:
c:\kb3205436.msu /quiet /norestart
I have put the /norestart as suggested in the HPDM documentation, as otherwise the machine will reboot and not return a script result. I know the update has finished installing, as if I reboot the device, it finishes configuring the update.
I need to know how to get the command to return a successful result to the HPDM agent, so that the next task in the sequence can trigger and run.

I am trying to reach HP Technical support regarding network issues with my T520 thin client. Upon going to the support page, It shows me 0 (zero) options for technical support even though my machine still has 9 months warranty left. Can someone please provide me with a number or some way to contact HP directly in order to get my machine repaired under warranty?

The BIOS "power on after power loss" setting will not work if the computer was gracefully shutdown with a UPS. Once the desktop is shutdown/powered off, it will not automatically power on again. Normally, you will need to physically press the on button - which is not always practical. With the current HP 8200 BIOS, the Desktop PC will only power on after power loss if it was ON at the time of power loss.
But there is a clever solution, which uses your router to turn it back on again - well suited to unattended small business file server setup using Elite series HP desktops.
Hardware set up
1.Connect your router and desktop to the same UPS.
2.The router must also be connected to the desktop via ethernet cable.
(This is important for WoL as it will NOT work with wireless USB adapters.)
Software setup
1. Enable "Wake on LAN" and "Power on" after power loss in desktop BIOS (Wol) as per link

2. Go in to Windows device manager, find your network adapter, and turn on "Allow this device to wake the computer", but untick "only allow magic packet to wake computer"
3. Set up UPS to hibernate after about 120sec
4. Set UPS to power off after another 30sec
This is what happens on Power Loss
1. UPS will trigger "shutdown /h" in windows. Status of open programs and files are saved to the SSD/HDD and the desktop powers down as per normal shutdown.
2. UPS will then cut power to both router and desktop. Everything is now completely safe, unpowered and off, patiently waiting for mains power to resume : )
3. When main power resumes, the UPS will turn on
4. The router will power on the and activate WoL in HP desktop
5. Desktop will power on, and restore previous state of apps and files.
Tested and working perfectly with HP 8200 and Eaton P5s UPS.

Dear HP.
My employer has purchased several hundred HP desktop PCs over the last couple of years. Sadly, the mouse scroll wheels are starting to deteriorate - the rubber is becoming slippery with a film of oil on the surface which makes the thing unpleasent to use.
Unfortunately, they are reluctant to contact the suppliers to seek replacements under warranty.
Can I ask what HP's position would be on this please, and would HP be prepared to help out in any way.
I would quite gladly send you the mouse from my desk, so you can experience the issue yourself (which could potentially get me into some trouble at work). At the moment, trouble at work would be preferable to having to use this mouse :-(

Z220 workstation with E3-1225 v2 processor. Upgrade to BIOS K51-V01.84 causes boot failure when Option ROM Launch Policy is "UEFI Only" with or without Secure Boot enabled. I boot with the POST delay set to 10 seconds. With the 1.84 BIOS the boot process does not proceed to announcing the POST delay. ME firmware upgraded last month to 8.1.71.3608.
I have no issues with and reverted back to the 1.83 BIOS with Secure Boot enabled.
My other Z220 workstation with E3-1245 v2 processor has no issues with the 1.84 BIOS.

I download Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver to put it on a cd and add the driver when installing windows 7 but it does not work.
What to do to detect the hard disk of the machine?

I'm reaching out to you with the following issue.
I've got a Z2 Mini Workstation and a Lenovo Thunderbolt USB-C dock.
Environment:
Windows 10 Enterprise x64 1703
3x EliteDisplay E27li connected
MS Webcam attached
Lenovo Thunderbolt USB-C dock connected via USB-C cable (!!)
The dock is not detected on the workstation and I've tried the following already:
- Update firmware of the dock
- Install the Lenovo drivers for the dock
- Install the HP Thunderbolt drivers for a USB-C dock (the only I could find)
None of the above allowed me to get the dock recognized, so I wonder if any of you has seen this or has any advise for me on how I can get this to work?

I recently picked up a Z600 workstation, and it's been great so far, with a single exception: SATA drive performance.
hwinfo64 lists the following for my OS drive (plugged into SATA0 in HDD drive bay 0):
Drive Controller: Serial ATA 1.5Gb/s @ 1.5Gb/s
Drive Model: SEAGATE ST31000340NS
Seagate states that this particular drive should be SATA 2 (3.0Gb/s), however I cannot seem to get my workstation to detect the drive as such, only in 1.5Gb/s SATA 1 mode.
I realize that this drive is relatively slow by today's standards, however these speeds are terrible:

Any ideas as to why this drive might not be running in SATA 2 (3.0Gb/s) mode? Are there any particular SATA ports I need to use other than SATA1 or SATA0 on the motherboard, or any additional drivers I may need to install? Relatively new to this workstation, so any tricks you may have would be appreciated!
My BIOS has been updated to the latest version already (late 2016 BIOS version), and I have verified that SATA Gen 2 3.0Gbs speed is selected for SATA in BIOS, as well as RAID+AHCI mode. I do realize that this is a pretty slow drive, but it's 7200RPM and should be quite a bit faster. Currently running Intel Server Express Chipset SATA RAID controller driver version 13.2.0.1022.
