Sysprep not working on HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini - Windows 7
Hi all, where I work we have a "HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini " PC running Windows 7 Professional X64 what is provided by our Disaster Recovery provider.
This PC has our basic company software/programs on and is imaged using Symantic Ghost, and is then deployed out to a large multiple of identical PC's at our disaster recovery facility in the event when needed. Our DR facility is also connected to our AD domain.
The process is: Build/Update image > Sysprep with Generalize option> Image PC using Symantic Ghost > Send Image to DR facility.
Now when ever I go to Sysprep it with the /Generalize option, windows fails to boot/reboot. I just get a black screen in a continuous re-booting loop. Not even any error message, absolutely nothing is shown!
I subsequently have to restore to a non syspreped image.
Has anyone else had similar issues with this model of PC in question or a similar model of HP PC? If so what was the solution?
I also need to get this issue sorted out sooner than later as we have a DR test coming up soon where we will be pushing the image out to a large number of identical PC's and test everything down in DR.

My name is John Eline and I'm looking to find out the name and or Model of the
Motherboard that came with my HP Z620 Workstation - Number C8M57UP.
Can't find this anywhere in HP Support.
I found some HP Z620 Motherboards on eBay. One such Motherboard listed is:
HP Workstation Z620 Intel Lga2011 Motherboard Mainboard 619559-001. This
one happens to be sold out. I don't know if this would be the correct one anyway.

Low FPS in Cinebench, Z600, GTX 980TI , 2x X5675
Hi,
I have upgraded my old Z600 with
- CPU: 2x X5675
- RAM: 40GB
- Display: GTX 980TI
To solve the insufficient power on display card (server reboot on graphic intensive tasks), I have connected the display card to 2nd power supply.
The problem is:
I have tried to run Cinebench on both Windows 10 and MacOS High Sierra (Hackintosh), the frame rate returned is very low (< 55fps)
Any idea?

RAID on Z440 is not working properly
Hello,
I have bought a Z440 system with 2xHDD 500GB. The disks should work in RAID1 configuration. I have tryed to reboot with only one HDD and the station gives me a lot of errors also if one HDD is powered off the system crashes completely.
According to the doc found on HP site for configuring my disks in RAID I should enter in POST phase with CTRL+C (or I or H) and from LSI 2308 menu confgure my RAID matrix. But the new layout of BIOS does not gives me the posibility to activate view of POST messages and as a result LSI menu is not accessibile.
From Winwows 10 64bits I have tryed to use Intel RST to view somw status of the RAID matrix or the status of the disks but it also doesn't gis me access to configuration menu.
I need an urgent sollution to make RAID working properly on my computer and to find an application or commands (CLI) which can give me data about the status of the disks and a replacement procedures in case of a disk failure.

Where to I find the right forum for this question?
I have inherited (through a company acquisition) some older HP hardware (Proliant DL380 G8) running mission-critical business applications on Windows Server 2008 R2, fully patched and up-to-date. I can't open the HP System Management Homepage on this server because I suspect the version (7.1.2) is trying to negotiate an SSL handshake with the Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) browser and can't talk SHA2. Just a guess. How do I confirm this and where can I find support and instructions for downloading a current version of SMH for this hardware?
The specific error from IE11 https://localhost:2381/ is:
This page can’t be displayed

Dual VR headsets on a Z820
Hi - im thinking about how to setup my z820 to run two VR headsets simultaneously.
with:-
- two xeon v2690v1 processors,
- 64MB RAM,
- seperate SSD HDs ( theoretically running their own OS- hence theoretically two PCs in one?),
- and two Gigabyte 1080 xtreme GPU cards (run in SLI mode?),
- and either two Oculus rifts, or one oculus and one HTC vive.
Im wondering if anyone here might know how I might be able to set the PC to do this?
Ive seen some online demos of workstations that have been built by nVidia that can do this (hence negating having to have two seperate PCs networked to run two VR Headsets)...
Any advice ?
Ps - im using this workstation for Game development/3D rendering - not just gaming.

HP Z230 CMT Workstation PSU Upgrade?

I've recently bought a new case which has a bottom mount for a PSU, however my current PSU is top mounted and is not possible to use in the new case due to cable restrictions.
My question is: What PSUs are available and compatible with my system (HP Z230 Workstation CMT)?
My current PSU is 400w but I would like to reach into the 500w+ area.

Intel Network card fails to initialize, can disable/re-enable and it works
I have 2 different HP 8200 Elite UltraSlims, that have been redonerecently with a fresh install of Windows 7 x64. Both of them, will not initialize the network card after a reboot, or turning it on. Once the system is up and running, you can disable the network card, and re-enable it, and it will work, until the next reboot. Both machines show that the Intel Management Engine Interface isn't working properly (I can't update the firmware on either) I have updated the bios on both machines, used the latest drives for both the Intel Management Engine Interface, and the Intel 82579LM Network adapter.....Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

EliteDesk 800 G2-Tower SATA hot-plug possible?

i just bought a EliteDesk 800 G2-Tower, running Win7 64Bit Pro with latest drivers (Intel Rapid Storage 15.9.0.1015 on Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller), RAID-Mode disabled in BIOS (latest version).
My question is why am i unable to set the SATA-ports to eSATA and why cant i use the hot-plug feature of the AHCI-controller? I guess the chipset must be able to handle these features or am i wrong at this point?

WES7 Internet Explorer not functioning with TLS1.0 disabled
We have a number of t610 Thin Clients running WES7 SP1 with the latest patches. We have been using IE11 to access various websites which now demand that we do not use TLS 1.0. If we uncheck this in the Advanced Tab of Internet Options, most sites do not display at all e.g. google.co.uk (msn.com does!). This behaviour is the same for all the 8 t610s that we have in the office. We also have several T520 Thin Clients with the same OS and patches which work perfectly with TLS 1.0 unchecked. A standard PC running Win 7 is also fine so the issue would appear to be something to do with the image setup on the t610. Chrome on all types of machine works perfectly, provided that the cache is relocated to the z-drive.
Any ideas to get IE11 to function correctly would be helpful.

100% Failure Rate with Used z620 Motherboards
Hello,
Be careful in choosing a used motherboard: I in effect, built a new z620 from parts: a new chassis /power supply, CPU (E5-1680 V2) GPU (Quadro P2000), Drives: Z Turbo Drive + Intel 730 + HGST 7K600), and only the motherboard, z420 liquid cooler, and memory were used. The performance was fantastic for the almost a year- the top and then 2nd highest-rated z620 on Passmark Performance Test.
However, after about a year's use. the motherboard had a gradual- over about three months- failure in which the startup time increased dramatically and then came a final black out two weeks ago. This was so complete that I can not diagnose the failure mode.
Last week's replacement seemed promising but arrived with only three working PCIe slots- the others including the GPU slot ran at 2.5gb that could not be altered in BIOS. As I tried to update the BIOS, I may have lost the ability for a refund. These are the only two used motherboards I've ever bought = 100% failure rate.
I've had five HP z-series workstations and the three purchased new and the two as complete used working systems were perfectly reliable. Now, after $350 and much time lost, I am using the z620 GPU and drives in a first series z420 (E5-1620)- bought new- and which runs suprisingly well. I'm thinking of a new system around an i7-7820X / X299 or I may transfer the z620 components to the z420 (E5-1607 V2). The E5-1607 V2 system cost less than either of the used z620 motherboards. I casually tried the Z Turbo Drive and Quadro P2000 in that system and on Passmark it became the highest rated proprietary, non-O/C E5-1607 V2 system!
It would be great to revive the z620, but I have no confidence in used motherboards and the $600+ cost for a new one is not practical given a working V2 system can cost less.
Of course, with an existing system a used motherboard may be the only practical solution to a failure. But, starting out, consider buying a used working system with low specification- that is not "barebones", and upgrade. There is a reason for used, separate motherboards. I saw an Ebahhh listing for a z620 M/B and looking closely, there is a sticker visible that says, "REPLACE".
Has anyone else had negative experiences with used motherboards?

Hp 6200 pro microtower wakes on lan from s5 state only
Briefly the problem is that system wont wake on lan when it is in sleep (s3) or hibernate (s4) state. It does when it is normally shutdown (s5), so i can suppose that there is no settings issue with my nic or bios. Also it does wake from sleep when i move the mouse, problem is only with wake on lan thing..
Does anybody have any suggestion? Thanks

Z220 Workstation auto power up failure
Hi all!
I've been trying to set-up a BIOS auto power up function on working days on selected hour.
I've set everything (I hope - exact as on HP support page) in BIOS, but function didn't working for me.
On selected hour "something is happened" in BIOS, because PowerUp blue LED starts blinking (as when computer is set to sleep function) and nothing more...
I've made some tests and it is possible to wake up my computer by WOL function, so I think, something is not properly set in BIOS.
Can anyone help me to solve that issue, because I've no idea what else could I have to change?

Z240 Workstation turns out but black screens. Now getting BIOS Beeps.
We just got a new Z240 Workstation for the office with 2 monitors connected with HDCP adapters. When turned out, the power LED light flashes red, it gives out 2 short beeps, then 4 long higher tone beeps, and continuously repeats. The mobo fan does not spin. It looks as if the station isn't getting enough power. We've tried a different power outlet and still getting the same thing. Any idea why this is happening?
