We have an Estate of over 2000 Thinclients which consist of T510/T520 we are migrating to Windows 7 Embedded. All devices have licences for Win7 Embedded (labels on HP Info tab) But were running XP. Our Win7 embedded image installs without issue on the T510, but fails to install on the T520 The error is as in the title
ERROR *** The system does not have the licence for the image OS and thats as far as it gets. (USB being used to apply the image.)
I have searched these forums and seen others with the issue, but never a clear fix. I have today engaged HP support. But this appears to be a slow process.
I am aware the licence key is stored in the device bios. ** BUT ** Both models of devices are licenced for Win7 Embedded. Why does it work on the T510 (old model no longer available) but not on the currently available T520 ?
So far I have been asked to download the latest image (32bit flavour) from HP and see if it will install by the USB key method, I think we both know that WILL work (HP agent and myself) BUT that wont solve our problem. We are talking about a lot of Thinclients here (I understand could have as many as 4000 mixed 510/410 throughout the organisation. )
Anyone any ideas ? I have surfed the internet dry on this one.
