We've aqcquired some Western Digital Blue M.2 SSD's and installed them through a PCIe controller card (StarTech's PEXM2SAT3422) which can hold two SSD's each (we're not using any of SATA ports also available in the card).
At first, we treated it as plug&play; set up two M.2 drives in the controller card and plugged it into a PCIe 8x slot, then we boot into the OS and it all went smooth. We were able to set the drives up and running, use them, make some testing, etc.
However, after rebooting the OS the drives were not recognized. We had to go into the Disk Management tool and use the "Rescan Disks" option, only then the drives appeared back and we were able to use them again, no data loss occured. The disconnection happens every time a reboot is performed.
Then, we tried installing the drivers for the controller card, but this time the SSD drives were not recognized and the "Rescan Disks" option didn't work at all.
Logging into the BIOS diagnostics (prior to drivers installation and after drivers installation), we noticed that the drives are not recognized in the list of disks available to perform tests on.
Is there any advice you can provide on this subject? I would really appreciate it.
