Like a lot of other people, I've been fortunate enough to come into a small lot of t5740e's.
Half have the 2gb storage, the others have the 4gb of storage, and are also split, half havd 2gb or RAM, the others, 4gb.
I've searched the boards here at hp, and have found sp56020.exe which is the 4gb Windows 7 embedded OS image. I have downloaded the file, and it has successfully installed on the 2 machines I've tried.
The issues I have with this, of course, is I don't think it would fit on the 2gb machines since it's already stating it's the 4gb image. The other issues are basically the setup once installed. The bulk of the software on there is just beyond any configuration I'm looking to have.
I've been able to remove most of what's on there on the test systems, but wow, if there's one available, I could really use just a plain, simple Windows 7 embedded no frills image for these 2gb systems. Since the systems shipped with the limitied storage, I'm sure somewhere in the bowels of HP, there's a 2gb OS image somewhere. If these devices ran a different OS, that's fine too. I'm certainly not married to Windows 7.
So, if someone could point me in the direction of the licensed Windows image / iso for the t5740e which would install on the t5740e 2gb storage units, that would be super. Most of these are going to be used for Google Classroom so I don't need the latest and greatest OS.
