Need to disable USB 3.0 in BIOS on the Prodesk 400 G4 mini. Other requests mention this, but I have yet to see an answer. If you are reading this then you are probably in the same boat. Had to restore a windows 7 64bit image to one of the G4's. Unfortunatley Windows 7 doesn't have native support for USB 3.0. So the computer boots with the restored win 7 image, however there is no keyboard or mouse (because kybrd and mouse use USB).
1. The easiest fix would be to disable USB 3 in system BIOS and revert to USB 2, however, the G4 has HP's dumbed-down idiotic BIOS doesn't seem to have an option for doing this.
2. Another option would be for HP to create some sort of utility to load the USB3 drivers (if they insist on keeping that stupid BIOS)
3. The Prodesk G4 mini doesn't have PS2 connectors so please don't suggest that I try using a PS2 keyboard and mouse.
Its all really frustrating. I've found serveral solutions but they are all dead ends... One refs downloading an intel utility for doing this, but this utility doesn't seem to exist on intels site any longer....
Awful...Unfortunaley Windows 7 isn't going away yet....So how about some support!
