Hi all. We've been using Z240 workstations running Windows 7 for many years, along with the serial port adapter (PA716A), which plugs into the motherboard via a ribbon cable. We've now started using Windows 10 (64 bit) and are having repeatable issues with this adapter there weren't present in Windows 7. The issue is that after restarting the PC we no longer receive data into the serial port. COM1 is still present in device manager but no data is received. The fix is to power down the computer, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Then the serial port starts working again.
We have this on multiple Z240 PCs but only those running Windows 10. I don't believe there's a driver for this serial port adapter as Windows just sees it as an onboard serial port.
Is anyone else seeing this? We can switch to using PCIe serial cards instead if we have to, but the serial adapter is a much neater solution.
Thanks.
