My Z1 is mainly used for CAD using Rhino and Autocad and has proven very reliable. Now I have a significant problem and all the local repairers are closed for Christmas/Summer holidays.
Two days ago PC worked properly and when I switched it off it went through the usual shutdown routine and closed down. Simultaneously a house power circuit fuse blew. The PC was then totally dead.
I am an electronic novice, but checked the PC as far as I could with a basic multimeter and found that the PSU's fuse - a ceramic fast blow 8A 250V fuse - had blown. I replaced that fuse, but as soon as I switched on the PC it immediately blew another house circuit fuse. Obviously there is something more serious than a blown fuse! What's causing the fuses to blow?
This is now beyond my capabilities and I will refer it to a technician as soon as they reopen.
Any suggestions as to what the cause of the problem may be? What is the tech likely to find?
Thanks
Tom
