SSM not working

Hello,

 

I am following the SSM User Guide but it won't work.

 

  1. I copied ssm.exe and ssm.cab to a folder c:\hpssm
  2. I ran from an elevated Powershell: \\localhost\hpssm\SSM.exe
  3. I set the storage to C:\hpssm and named the share hpssm.
  4. I copied sp71832.cva, sp71832.exe and sp71832.html to c:\hpssm\softpaqs.
  5. I ticked to Check hp.com for CVA file updates and created the database, then clicked finish.
  6. Then I ran this from the PS: \\localhost\hpssm\SSM.exe \\localhost\HPSSM /accept
  7. I see a brief windows stating that SSM is initializing. Nothing else happens. There is no log at %temp%.
  8. So I ran this afterwards: \\localhost\hpssm\SSM.exe \\localhost\HPSSM /accept /debug /edebug /log:c:\hpssmlog\log.txt
  9. Same. Brief window, nothing happens. No log file at %temp% and no log file at c:\hpssmlog\log.txt.

Any ideas what's wrong?
