Hello, I'm really new to this forum, so don't go hard on me if I posted this in the wrong place or anything
I have had an HP Z600 Workstation with previously 12GB (6x 2GB sticks) of Elpida RAM for a while that I use for things like home game servers and some other stuff. Just today I got a shipment of 6x 8GB RAM sticks I ordered that can be found here. I took out the old sticks and put in the new sticks, but when I tried to put on the memory fan, the black box with the fan on it, it wouldn't fit due to the RAM stick's height. The height difference is only about 1 inch, but it is too far away due to the heat distributors toward the top that the old RAM didn't have.
Is there any way to get an extender or something at least for the port it connects to and tape it in place, or even just a more permanent solution? I have the computer running right now but am wondering how that fan effects the RAM and what I can do. I am willing to buy pretty much anything reasonable to help.
Thanks for reading this, and for any help
