I'm trying to install RHEL 6.7 Server on a new Z440 Workstation. The initial installation works with no problem, but when it reboots, the kernel panics immediately. Originally I thought it was a problem with the graphics, but even booting into no graphic mode panics. I booted into rescue mode from the install CD and applied the updated drivers supplied on media witht he system, but it had no effect. I can't even boot into single user.
It seems like a hardware incompatibility, like maybe a disk driver or something, accept that the install media boots fine.
I'm going to try a different/newer version of RHEL, but I really need to get 6.7 working if at all possible. It works fine on several other older Z440s we have, but they have slightly older bios and CPUs.
Is this a known issue with existing work arounds?
