We use a Z840 Workstation with Win7, Dual Xeon E5-2640v4.
For several reason we use a "standard (SATA) ssd" as the boot drive, this is mandatory and can not be changed.
We want to use the Z TurboDrive G2 as an additional disk.
However when we install the drive and the driver from the HP Site (including the Win7 Patch for NVMe) the drive can be accessed but the performance is very low. For example:
- the AS SSD Benchmark takes minutes before it is ready to use/to start
- subversion checkout terminating with disk I/O errors
In the Bios, "Option Rom Launch Policy" is set to "All Legacy". Setting this to "All UEFI" results to non starting system with an error message like" can not find system disk" or something like that.
The only solution by now is to remove the Z TurboDrive
The standard SSD is in Bay 0, the HDD is in Bay 1, as far as I see the bays are connected to SAS/SATA 6Gb/s 0 and 1
The Z Turbo Drive is in Slot 1, a Quadro K620 in Slot 2 and a Tesla C2075 in Slot 6
Any other solutions to get the Z TurboDrive to work?
